PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

Triple I is building a statewide network of qualified counseling professionals to conduct independent, impartial, and timely assessments for children and families referred by the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services. Contractors will conduct a range of family assessments requested by DFCS, gather and evaluate relevant case information, interview clients and collateral contacts, and prepare clear, well-supported reports that help case managers, courts, and families make informed decisions.

What You’ll Do

Conduct Comprehensive Child and Family Assessments and other assigned DFCS family assessments, including parental fitness, substance abuse, domestic violence, trauma, bonding and attachment, and other authorized assessments within your qualifications.
Interview parents, children, caregivers, family members, and collateral contacts through in-person, field-based, and authorized virtual appointments.
Review service authorizations, case summaries, contact narratives, prior assessments, medical and dental information, trauma assessments, drug-screen results, and other records relevant to the assessment.

Analyze the available information and prepare objective, clinically sound written reports containing clearly supported findings, conclusions, recommendations, and required signatures.
Complete reports within applicable DFCS timeframes and maintain accurate case notes, outreach records, missed-appointment documentation, and explanations for any unavoidable delays.
Coordinate professionally with DFCS case managers and Triple I team members and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case staffings, and other authorized case-related activities when required.

Who You are

You hold an active Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor credential, an active Associate Professional Counselor credential, or a qualifying master’s degree in counseling or a related human services discipline and are eligible to pursue professional licensure. Triple I may assist qualified master’s-level contractors with placement under an appropriately licensed supervisor before assessment assignments begin.
You have relevant experience in child welfare, family preservation, behavioral health, family assessment, substance-use services, trauma-informed care, forensic or clinical interviewing, or related human and social services; prior DFCS experience is preferred.

You demonstrate strong interviewing, assessment, analytical, clinical-documentation, and professional report-writing skills.
You can work independently, manage multiple assignments, meet firm deadlines, communicate reliably, and travel within the Georgia counties or service areas you accept.
You are committed to confidentiality, ethical practice, cultural responsiveness, professional boundaries, impartial decision-making, and successful completion of Triple I’s credentialing and background-review requirements.
